Betty L. Aungst, 85, of Selinsgrove, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
She was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Burnham, a daughter of the late Orlando R. and Sadie M. (Mathieson) Nolder. On March 16, 1951, she married Kermit F. Aungst who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2006.
Betty attended Freeburg elementary School and graduated from Selinsgrove High School.
She had been employed at Giant Food in the meat department for a number of years, and later drove school bus for BKW.
Betty was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove and the ladies auxiliary of the Moose.
After her grandchildren were born she and Kerm focused all their love and attention on them just as they had done for their sons, always attending their many activities. Family vacations to Canada left many wonderful memories. Family was the most important part of their life. Betty loved her home which she enjoyed decorating inside and out for the seasons and holidays.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Todd A. and Laura Aungst and Gregory A. and Pamela Aungst, all of Selinsgrove; four grandchildren, Jordan Aungst, Molly Aungst, Jessica McCool and husband Andrew, and Brandon Aungst and wife Alissa; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace McCool and Ryleigh Rae Aungst; one brother and sister-in-law, Leonard "Mac" and Grace Nolder, of Shamokin Dam.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Orlando "Rudy", Clarence Paul, and Ronald Nolder.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Sharon Lutheran Church, 120 S. Market St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Robert P. Doll officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
Contributions to honor Betty's memory may be made to Sharon Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
