Dana J. Ross, 56, passed away on January 10, 2018 at the Houlton Regional Hospital. Dana died peacefully in his sleep after a two year battle with cancer. He was born on March 23, 1961 in Houlton, Maine, the son of Donald and Mary Joan Ross (Mitchell).
Dana was born with cerebral palsy, but he never let it slow him down. He graduated from Houlton High School in 1981. Dana had a big heart, a terrific smile and would do anything for anyone.
Dana was predeceased by his parents and his grandparents Kenneth L. Ross and Sarah Ross and Everett D. Mitchell and Vera Mitchell. He was also predeceased by two cousins, Maurice Doubleday and Mary Lyn Mitchell and his Uncle Moe. Dana is survived by his four brothers, Donald Ross of Pueblo, Colorado, Daniel Ross of Caribou, Maine, Darrell Ross of Bangor, Maine and Darren Ross of Houlton, Maine. He is also survived by his sister, Jody Sinclair (Ross) and her husband Daniel Sinclair, of Old Town, Maine. Dana had many special nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. Dana is also survived by his Aunt Carol Doubleday(DeeDee), his Uncle John Mitchell, his Uncle Everett Mitchell and his cousins Veronica, John and Ev. Dana also had many friends that were like family to him.
Dana chose not to have a funeral, he wanted his friends and family to remember him as he was. There are plans for a memorial service in the Spring. (date and time to be determined)
