Doris's Story

Text size

Doris E. Lee, 78, of West Terre Haute formerly of Rockville, passed away at 9:04 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in Clinton Gardens in Clinton. She was born Aug. 10, 1939, in Rockville, to Parke Farnsworth and Edith Jane Reevley Farnsworth.
Doris was a kind-hearted Christian woman. She was self-employed as a home health care aide and housekeeper. Doris always worked two jobs to provide for her seven children. She never complained, she was happy just knowing that her children had what they needed and wanted. Doris was the true meaning of what a mother and grandma should be. She put her family's needs before her own and made everyone feel loved. Her family will never forget the sacrifices she made for them and the unconditional love she gave them.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenny Lee and Brian Lee; and a grandson, Aaron Lee.
Survivors include her children, Cindy Mann and her husband Will, Mark Lee, Paul Lee, Kevin Lee, and Karen Myers and her husband Martin, and Jay Jackson; a sister, Donna Walls and her husband Gene; 19 grandchildren, Kim Mann, Kenny Mann, Brandy Lee, Tierra Price, Chase Evans Lee, Randy Rigsby Lee, Joanna Weir, Nancy Lee, David Lee, Daniel Lee, Kiera Davis, Derrick Lee, Dylan Lee, Abbi Lee, Cass Myers, Alex Myers, Jarrett Myers, Preston Myers, and Brionna Myers; and several great-grandchildren.
Doris was a member of the Nyesville Full Gospel Church at Rockville. She enjoyed yardselling, camping, and cooking meals for her family and most importantly spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, with Pastor Gene Walls officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her son, Brian, in Rockville Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Saturday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to: Hope For Brionna, with envelopes available in the funeral home.
