Fred Hobson, 77, of Lawrence County, Ky., died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018.
He was born Feb. 8, 1940, in Fulton, Ohio, to the late A.J. and Eula (Peterman) Hobson.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his brother, Truman Hobson.
Fred was a general contractor, U.S. Air Force Veteran, member of DAV and member of Church of God.
Fred is survived by his wife, Connie Hobson of Lawrence County; three sons, Fred Hobson of Greenup, David Hobson of Palm Springs, Calif., and Kenneth Hobson of Lawrence County; a daughter Georgetta Stone of Greenup; two stepsons, Allen Atwell of Galion, Ohio and Michael Atwell of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, James Hobson of Greenup and Gary Hobson of Wheelersburg, Ohio; a sister, Janet Bailey of South Shore; three half-sisters, Mary Elkins Kain of South Shore, Becky Lawson of South Shore and Jennie Sublett of Greenup; seven grandchildren, including two very special grandchildren, Lindsay Grace Hobson and Landon Kenneth Hobson; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Young Funeral Home Chapel in Louisa with Paul Stepp officiating. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Cemetery in Ashland with military rites. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at the funeral home.
