Gildo's Story

Gildo Tiberi, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on December 6, 2017 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Introdacqua, Abruzzi, Italy, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Ida (DelSignore) Tiberi.
Gildo was raised and educated in Italy, and married Franca (Iudiciani) Tiberi in July of 1968. Mrs. Tiberi predeceased him on July 14, 2011.
He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. For 58 years, Gildo worked as a laborer with the Laborers Local #91 in Niagara Falls until his retirement in 1997. He was a 50 year member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society where he especially enjoyed playing cards. In his leisure time, he also enjoyed playing bocce, gardening, reading, walking with his friends and opera music. Most of all, Gildo cherished spending time with his family.
Gildo is survived by his three children, Joseph (Jennifer) Tiberi, Paul Tiberi, both of Niagara Falls, and Christina (David) Lopera of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Ameliah, Joey and Felicity; his sisters and brothers, Dilia (late Iginio) Silvestri of Niagara Falls, Joseph (late Rina) Tiberi, Ida (late Antonio) Frissora, both of Columbus, OH, Tonino (Anna) Tiberi and Loreta (late Giovanni) Giammarco, both of Introdacqua, Italy; his brother-in-law, Gianni (Anna) Iudiciani of Introdacqua, Italy; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Saturday, December 9th at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Family Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. and Independence Ave. Niagara Falls. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
