Harold Lloyd Martin, age 85, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 in San Antonio. He was born on June 15, 1932 in Desdemona, Texas and grew up in Palestine, Texas where he was known to his friends as "Cowboy."
After a short time in the National Guard, Harold proudly served in the United States Air Force for 22 years as a medic, with one tour of duty in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, he enjoyed a 17-year career with Montgomery Ward and General Electric. He was a long-time active member of Rolling Oaks Christian Church in San Antonio where he kindly assisted the congregation many years as a deacon and shared his love of music by singing in the church choir. Harold also cherished his many years as a member in the brotherhood of Masons.
Harold will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was warm and friendly to all and never met a stranger. Some of his favorite pastimes were activities spent with his grand-kids, working in his vegetable gardens, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends, and rooting for his Cowboys and Spurs teams.
Harold is preceded in death by his loving wife Audrey of 61 years, his parents and thirteen brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Debbie Grime (Darrell), Gary Martin (Shelly) and Darlene Martin; grandchildren Daniel Martin (Katrina), Sasha Sentz (Eric), Katie Martin, Joshua Martin, Matthew Martin, and David Martin; great-grandsons Alexander Martin and Salvatore Colicci; sister, Irene Wilson, and many nieces and nephews.
