James Roland's Story

Age 78 of Dart- mouth, passed away October 29, 2017 after a long courageous battle with leukemia and dementia, in the VG Site, QEII, with family by his side. Born in Cooks Cove, he was a son of the late Hilda (Worth) and James Jarvis. Buster was a proud member of the Freemasons, he was a Worshipful Master at Bedford Lodge No. 104 and Eastern Light Lodge No. 72. His working days were spent on the road throughout the Maritimes as a salesman. He will be greatly missed every day by his wife, Sharon (Allen) Jarvis; children, Jeffrey (Laura) Jarvis, Andrea (Andre) Jarvis, and Lisa (Christina) Jarvis-Murray; grandson, Phinean. He is also survived by his siblings, Beatrice (Richard) Eisler, Nan (Harold) Feltmate, Lynn (David) Snowball, Alan (Gail) Jarvis, and honorary sister, Beverly Silva; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, James was predeceased by his younger sister, Carol (Cecil) Parks. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of choice. Cremation has taken place. A Masonic Service will be held in Wesley United Church, 32 Queen St., Guysborough, on Saturday, November 4th at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
