James Loyd Vance died peacefully in Granby, Mo., on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. He was 74. He was born on Aug. 10, 1943, to Loyd Jess and Winona Eldina "Purbaugh" Vance.
James graduated from Diamond High School, class of '61. He worked as a machinist at Vickers and Hawk.
James is survived by his children, Misty Bartlett and Paul, Mindy Bartley, Mandy Vance; sisters, Patricia and William Jones, Joyce and Gerald Smith; sister-in-law, Vivian Vance; grandchildren, Tyler Bartlett, Macy Bartlett, Makayla Bartlett; and great-grandson, Tucker Bartlett. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Vance; and his wife, Sharon "Bartlett" Vance.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Diamond (Mo.) Christian Church. Mike Whorlow will officate.
