Jean's Story

Jean (Cornish) Beaumont, 83, passed away peacefully December 5, 2017. She was born in Biddeford, November 20, 1934, the only child of Charles and Martha (Pelletier) Cornish.
Jean grew up in East Hartford, CT. She was married October 9, 1954, to Edgar Beaumont, Jr. Jean was a wonderful mother to five boys. She and Ed raised their boys in East Hartford and South Windsor, Connecticut. They moved to Winterport in 1996, where she attended St. Gabriel's Catholic Church.
Jean was a member of the Winterport Women's Club and a charter member of the Winterport Clippers quilting group. She was very creative making beautiful quilts and stained glass pieces. Jean spent many happy days sitting on the sun deck at the family camp on Bottle Lake.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Ed; their sons and wives, Edgar III and Louise of Winterport, William and Julie (Stiles) of Bucksport, Gary and Susan of Southington, CT., Gregory and Marianna of East Hartford, CT., James and Christine of Longmeadow, MA. She was a loving grandmother to ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several special cousins. Jean will be missed by all.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westgate Center for Rehabilitation and Alzheimers Care, for the excellent care she received there.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 6 to 8 pm. Monday, December 11, 2017, at the Hampden Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon Rd., Winterport.
