Joel Matthew Elmore, 53, of Colonie, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at his residence.
He was born in Plattsburgh, Feb. 8, 1964, the beloved son of Robert J. Elmore and Patricia (Cooper) Elmore.
Joel grew up in Peru and graduated from Peru Central High School, class of 1982. Joel worked for over 30 years as an automotive finance and sales professional in Orlando, Fla., and New York. For the past five years he had worked at Lia Nissan in Colonie.
Joel loved music and was an accomplished bass player who played in bands in Florida and New York. Joel was a dog lover and was especially partial to Pugs, but loved all dogs. He was an avid reader.
Left to cherish the memory of Joel are his wife, Nalinee Chanpacharin Elmore of Kratumbaen, Thailand; his son, Jaciel Torres of Orlando, Fla.; first wife, Linette Elmore of Orlando; his parents, Robert and Patricia Elmore of Plattsburgh; brothers, Mark Elmore of Raleigh, N.C., and Eric Elmore of Clifton Park; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will private and at the convenience of the family in the spring.
Donations in Joel's memory may be made to the local chapter of the American Heart Association or the Peru Elmore SPCA.
