Kathleen "Sisty" (Durkin)'s Story
LAWRENCE- Kathleen "Sisty" (Durkin) Delaney, 87, a resident of South Lawrence, MA, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Prescott House Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Born in Lawrence, Kay was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She had worked in the Lawrence Public Schools for many years. Kay enjoyed spending time at Salisbury Beach with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Lawrence.
The widow of James R. Delaney, Kay's family members include her three children, Michael and his wife Kathy of Methuen, Paddy and her husband, Chuck Sharpe of Hampton, NH and Patrick and his wife, Jennifer of Methuen. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael, Callie, Ryan, Tyler and Sophie, a great- grandchild, Braeden as well as her brothers, William Durkin and Richard Durkin and his wife, Barbara Durkin. Kay was predeceased by her grandson, Joshua, her brother Charles, and her sister-in-law, Irene.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence. Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
