Leo's Story

Leo Harold Andrews, 90, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heaven's gates Sunday, November 12, 2017. He was born June 15, 1927 to Roy and Flora (Edwards) Andrews in Braggs, Oklahoma. Leo graduated from Fort Gibson High School and continued his education at Northeastern State University. He served in the United States Army from 1944-1946 in Germany and received an honorable discharge.
Leo was a police officer and retired from the Muskogee Police Department after many years of service. He was a devoted husband to Joan for over 68 years and helped raise 3 children. Leo was a member of Boston Avenue Baptist Church for 66 years where he served as a deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and a choir member. He enjoyed OU football, bowling league and working in his yard and garden. Leo loved his family very much and loved spending as much time as he could with them. He will always be remembered as a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Flora (Edwards) Andrews; siblings, Opal Andrews, James Andrews, Edmond Andrews, Howard Andrews, Milton Andrews, Eugene Andrews, Kathryn Rose and Truma Keith.
Leo is survived by his wife, Joan Andrews of the home; children, Brenda Mullen and husband Rick of Muskogee, OK, Janet Williamson and husband Craig of Sammamish, WA, and Alan Andrews and wife Becky of OKC, OK; grandchildren, Lori Partain of Westville, OK, Staci Cole of Proctor, OK, Rachel Cady of Waco, TX, Brooke Williamson, Seattle, WA, Clay Williamson of Woodland Hills, CA; great-grandchildren, Brittany Partain of Westville, OK, Morgan Cole of Spiro, OK, Briant Partain of Westville, OK, Hailey Cole, Dusti Cole, Ruger Cole all of Proctor, OK, Brendan Cady, Sarah Cady, and Brycen Cady all of Waco, TX; great-great-grandchild, Gannon Cole; sister, Nancy Battenfield of Gore, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A celebration of Leo's life will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Boston Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Echols and Rev. Adrian Totty officiating. Interment will be at Greenhill Cemetery with Paul Jones, Briant Partain, Dan Cady, Brent Cole, Ruger Cole and Brian Partain serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Boyd Andrews, Bill Doering and Bill Jestice.
