Lorraine (Czapla) Horab, 89 years old, passed away on December 5, 2017 at Northgate Manor. She was born in Niagara Falls on October 14, 1928, the daughter of the late Peter and Sophie (Szymczak) Czapla.
She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. Lorraine worked at Jenss Department Store at the Summit Park Mall as a clerk in the lingerie department for 20 years. She was a former member of the Holy Trinity Seniors and the Reunited Seniors.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Leo D. Horab, Jr., and is survived by her sons, Gary (Denise) Horab of Niagara Falls and Robert (Irene) Horab of North Tonawanda. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy Horab, Melissa Zacher, Kristin Andrews, Peter Horab, Ryan Horab and Josh Horab; and her great-grandchildren, Eric Zacher, Jr., Leah Zacher, Maysa Horab and Lillie Horab . She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Olejarz; and her brothers, Edward Crane, Teddy Crane and Walter Chapla.
Friends may call on Friday from 3 PM until 7 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road, where funeral services will be held on Saturday beginning at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Polish National Church, 250 27th Street, with the Rev. Francis Kadryna officiating. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery.
