Lucille Stopp, 97 of Cochranton, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Wesbury Methodist Community where she had resided for the past 8 months.
She was born in Meadville on February 16, 1920. She married Merle Stopp on December 13, 1941 and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1991.
Lucille worked at the former Spencer Hospital in Meadville and was a devoted homemaker and mother. She also enjoyed growing flowers and traveled with her husband to several dance halls where they would ball room dance.
Survivors included her daughter, Joan Perry and her husband Tom of Newton Falls, OH; her son, Chuck Stopp of Cochranton; a granddaughter, Diane Downey and her husband Kenny of Southington, OH; six great-grandchildren, Katelyn Smith and her husband Andrew of Howland, OH, Jason Downing of Southington, OH, Mikeahla Friend and her husband Daniel of Kingsville, OH, Peighton Good and Aaron of Conneaut, OH, Josiah Leonard of Conneaut, OH, and Camryn Leonard of Conneaut, OH; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Lenny Friend and Elizabeth Good and a granddaughter-in- law, Jennifer Leonard.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Marian Fry; two brothers, Gordon and Neal; and a grandson, Dennis Allen Leonard.
Friends and family will be received at the DICKSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm when funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Wyatt Mullinax.
Interment will be in the Cochranton Cemetery.
The family ask that memorials be made in Lucille's name to WQLN TV Station, 8425 Peach St., Erie PA 16509 and they would also like to thank the staff at Wesbury for their care of Lucille.
