Mikah Marie Fitzpatrick, 33, of Traverse City, went home to be with the Lord, God almighty on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018. Mikah was born in Billings, Montana, on Jan. 31, 1985.
She attended Traverse City West High School and went on to earn a degree in social science from Michigan State University in 2007.
Mikah was a prayerful, God-loving woman who lived by the Golden Rule and accepted everyone where they were in life without judgment. She was a person whose smile and infectious laughter could light up any room. She had a tender heart and was always concerned with the well-being of others.
She enjoyed cooking, hiking and camping with her mom and siblings, fishing and tracking animals with her dad and deepening relationships with her family and friends. She enjoyed working with children, loved photography and spending time with dogs.
In addition to Traverse City, Mikah spent time in San Diego, California, and Woodbridge, Virginia, where she gained many meaningful relationships, including Bruce Walters, her boyfriend.
She is survived by her parents, Barbara Fitzpatrick and Bruce (Sharon) Rosema; siblings, Kyle Fitzpatrick, Melissa (Jeff Guy) Fitzpatrick, Chad (Abbey) Fitzpatrick, Eric (Tracee) Rosema and Betsey (Eric) Vollbach; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brother, Brian Fitzpatrick; biological father, Michael Fitzpatrick; grandparents, Robert and Edith Kage, and Janet Rosema; as well as many aunts and uncles; and a niece.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, or Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Traverse City.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Mikah's extended family, her many friends and the VCU Medical Center for the love, care and support offered during this very difficult time.
Pastor Nick Twomey will officiate a memorial service on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Kensington Church, 6880 Secor Road, Traverse City, MI 49685. Please join us in celebrating Mikah's life, remembering all the joy she brought to this world.
