Richard J. Levesque 86, husband of the late Ann Shirley (Pisani) Levesque, died Monday, December 4, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.
Born, raised and educated in Salem, he was the son of the late Edward and Bernadette (Ross) Levesque.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Coast Guard.
Richard was employed for 30 years as a firefighter for the City of Beverly until the time of his retirement.
Throughout his life, Richard had many passions and interests. An avid gardener, he delighted in spending hours tending to his flowers and plants and working in his yard. Skilled in the trades, he was able to make many improvements on his home, such as adding rooms, updating electrical and plumbing systems, and landscaping the grounds. An enthusiastic and knowledgeable student of history, Richard could often be found reading books and articles on various historical topics.
