Ronnie's Story

Mr. Ronnie Alligood, 70, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on November 12, 2017 at Navicent Health Center in Macon, Georgia. He was born in Thomasville, Georgia on December 17, 1946 to the late Robert Henry Alligood and Carmie Lee Alligood Colley. He lived the past 21 years in Cook County where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for First Baptist Church of Adel. Mr. Alligood was a retired salesman for Stewart Distribution in Waycross. He loved his Lord, was always actively involved with his children and grandchildren, and his loyal companion, Missy, was always by his side. He was a football fanatic for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Lowndes High School Vikings.

Mr. Alligood is survived by Janet Hansford Alligood of Adel; two sons and daughters-in-law: Ron and Stacy Alligood of Warner Robins and Sean and Angie Alligood of Quitman; seven grandchildren: Heather and Dustin Hickman of Warner Robins, Taylor and Tory Alligood of Jacksonville, NC, Bailey Cox of Warner Robins, Tanner Cox of Warner Robins, Cade Ply of Quitman, Maddie Ply of Quitman and Ansley Cox of Warner Robins; two great-grandchildren: Sophie Hickman of Warner Robins and Camden Alligood of Jacksonville, NC; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Roger and Teresa Becton of Valdosta and Randy and Gina Becton of Quitman; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Connie L. Carpenter of Gainesville, GA and Claudia and Ronnie Lieupo of Homerville, GA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Lee Allen Carpenter, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Blanche and Sox Hansford.

The family will receive friends Tuesday November 14, 2017 from 6 until 9 PM at Boone Funeral Home South, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service will take place Wednesday November 15, 2017 at 4 PM at First Baptist Church of Adel with Rev. Bill Marlette, Mr. Ron Alligood and Mrs. Connie Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Steve Meders will sing "The Anchor Holds," Janie Stevens will sing "Trust in You" and the congregation will sing "Amazing Grace;" Sheila Humber will play the piano. Ben Forte, Andy Forte, Shawn Buchanan, Wade Yoder, Jonathan Lieupo and Dalton Wiley will serve as pallbearers; the deacons of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
