Rosemary's Story

Rosemary Louise (Latham) Sanders Kumpf, 86, of Brazil, passed away at home, Dec. 6, 2017. She was born on July 10, 1931, in Centerpoint, the daughter of Roy and Nellie (Killion) Latham.
Rosemary graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1949. Later she graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in education and then she earned her master's degree from DePaw University. Mrs. Kumpf taught Special Education at Forest Park Elementary for 19 years.
Rosemary married John Wesley Sanders in 1949. He preceded her in death unexpectedly at the age of 39. She married William Kumpf on Nov. 27, 1968, he preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2010, after 42 years of marriage.
She was a charter member of the East Side Christian Church. She also was a member of the Brazil First Church of the Nazarene and the El' Shaddai Emmaus Community.
Rosemary enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
In addition to her parents, Roy and Nellie Latham and her husbands, John Wesley Sanders and William Kumpf; she was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Jean Sanders and Terri Lynne (Sanders) Proffitt; and siblings, Lyndon Latham, Robert Latham, Lois Latham Meyer and Joseph Latham.
Survivors include three children, Onya Wetnight and husband David of Brazil, Douglas Sanders and wife Tina of Seelyville and Bradley Sanders of Brazil; stepchildren, Virginia (Kumpf) Boyce and husband Ken of Fillmore, William Kumpf Jr. and wife Mary of Lebanon, Tenn., Peggy (Kumpf) Hines and husband David of Brazil and Janet (Kumpf) Davenport and husband Owen of Terre Haute; sisters, Norma Lowery of Terre Haute and Jean Okeli of Illinois; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil, on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will follow at the funeral home, Tuesday, at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. To light a candle in her memory, visit: www.frenchfuneralhome.com
