Sally Kay Gettelfinger, age 58, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at home with her family by her side. Sally was born September 5, 1959 in Louisville, KY. She was the kind of person whose effervescent personality buoyed everyone she encountered. An irreplaceable wife, mother, homemaker, Sally additionally contributed her considerable energy to volunteering for the American Lung Association and to being an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Bradford, IN. Sally was a conservationist who loved the ocean and was never afraid of a new adventure.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard J. Gettelfinger Jr.; son, Gregory J. Gettelfinger (Megan) of Clarksville, Indiana; daughter, Lora Kay Gettelfinger of Brooklyn, New York; granddaughter, Grace Audrey Gettelfinger; parents, Charles and Nancy (Thompson) Sandifer of New Albany, Indiana (previously Louisville, Kentucky); sister, Shannon Speth (Rick) of Georgetown, Indiana; brothers, Scott Sandifer (Janet) of New Albany, Indiana and Andrew Sandifer (Carla) of Georgetown, Indiana.
Her optimistic disposition was unstoppable and infectious. Her radiant smile and compassionate heart will be missed by many.
Visitation's will be 28 p.m. Thursday, February 15 and 910:45 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at St, Michael's Catholic Church, in the town of Bradford, Indiana.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with entombment in St. Michael's Cemetery at a later date.
