Velma Irene Leavitt, 89, a lifelong resident of Exeter, died on January 9, 2018, at a Bangor hospital. She was born on March 19, 1928, in Exeter a daughter of F. Keith and Ruth (Felix) Buswell.
She worked at Eastland Woolen Mill for 20 years and operated a family vegetable stand for a number of years.
She is survived by her son, James and wife, Julie Leavitt, of Exeter; sister, Theora Lougee, of Corinth; two grandchildren, William and Emily; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Buswell of Corinth; many beloved nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Norman, Carroll, and Malcolm Buswell.
At her request there will be no visiting hours. Graveside committal services will be held at the Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth, in the spring. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com
