Virginia's Story

Virginia Belle "Jenny Bell" Bragg Stennett, 78, of Nimitz, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness.
Born May 29, 1939, at Ellison, she was a daughter of the late Basil M. "Poppy" and Daisy Barlow Bragg.
Virginia was a member of the Jumping Branch Gospel Tabernacle. She was the first female Sheriff of Summers County and a former Summers County Sheriffs Department Deputy. Virginia retired from Southern Regional Jail as a correctional officer. She enjoyed her beloved pets, camping, flower gardening, traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by one grandson, Nick Key; one brother Glen Bragg and two sisters, Thelma Bragg Chapman and Stella Bragg Horton and husband Bruce.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 31 years, Tommy W. Stennett at home; two sons, Richard A. "Rick" Key and wife Tina of Nimitz and Thomas L. Key and wife Kathy of Pence Springs; five grandchildren, Jessica Key Mills and companion Keith Coffman of Maxwell Hill, Krystina Key and companion Charlie Eye of Nimitz, Tawny Key of Princeton, Cameron Taylor of Shady Spring and Jordan Taylor and companion Alexis Howell of Shady Spring; six great grandchildren, Jada K. Mills, Carson Coffman, Harlan Key, Victor Blevins, Payton Eye and Jaxon Taylor; two brothers, James Bragg and wife Maxine of Nimitz and Roger Bragg and wife Jane of Jumping Branch and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, with Pastor Tom Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz.
Friends may call from 11:30 AM until time of services on Saturday at the funeral parlors.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Taylor, Charlie Eye, Jimmy Bragg, Justin Pugh, Dale Lilly and Gordy Hardy.
Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
