ROWLEY - William R. Green, 65, of Rowley, formerly of Beverly, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, in Danvers. He was the beloved husband of Nancy E. (Boyd) Green. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Walter P. and Marjorie (Bliss) Green. He was a graduate of Beverly High School with the class of 1970, and he attended North Shore Community College.
Mr. Green had been employed for 34 years as a grocery clerk, and as an evening grocery manager, for Shaw's Supermarkets in both their Beverly and Gloucester locations.
William was a lifelong resident of Beverly, and truly enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. He looked forward to traveling with his family every summer to Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. Bill was very enthusiastic about his Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins. He loved collecting sports memorabilia, and had a passion for music, being an avid musician in his earlier years.
In addition to his wife, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage; he is survived by his son, Ryan Green, of Rowley; and his brother, Walter P. Green Jr., of Danvers; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Boyd; a nephew, Sean Green; and a niece, Kerry Green.
Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be held privately.
