Mary Ann's Story
Mrs. MaryAnn (Butler) Buczko, 83, of Salem, beloved wife of Albert J. Buczko of Salem, died Saturday, September 16, 2017, at her home surround by her loving family.
Born in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Adelaide M. (Bennet) Butler. She was raised and educated in Nahant and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1952. MaryAnn continued her education and was a graduate of Salem Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Buczko had been employed as a Registered Nurse and practiced her profession for many years, in several cities around the country, including Salem at Salem Hospital.
Her life was long and happy. She traveled extensively with her husband, Al, and she enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends. She cherished her long walks down the Willows with Al and her loyal Schnauzer Gretel. She was a longtime resident of the City of Salem and a dedicated member of the Woman's Friend Society of Salem.
MaryAnn was a loving mother and grandmother and the light of her life was being able to spend time with her grandchildren who where a major source of pride as she watched them grow and shared with them in their many accomplishments. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.
In addition to Al, her loving husband of 61 years, MaryAnn is survived by her children, Stephen Buczko and his wife, Nancy of Salem, Susan Ballou and her husband, Daniel of Salem and Karen Edwards of West Hartford, Conn.; her grandchildren, Paul "PJ", Kendall and Dean Edwards, Madison and John Ballou and Audrey Buczko; her sister, Laura Taylor; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Her funeral service will be held in the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common), Salem, Tuesday, September 19, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
