Mary Lizabeth de Smet passed away peacefully at her home on October 5, 2017.
Mary was born on May 27, 1953 in Montclair, N.J. the daughter of Louis and Lorraine (nee’ Prevelige) de Smet. Mary attended St. Thomas the Apostle in Bloomfield, Winston Churchill in Fairfield and West Essex High School, Caldwell, N.J. She received a degree in Nuclear Medicine from Denver Community College.
Creative pursuits, such as pottery, painting, and gardening were constants in Mary’s life. She was an excellent cook, and was very active, loving the outdoors and traveling. Mary worked in Nuclear Medicine and MRI in the Merrimack Valley and Boston area.
Mary is survived by her children, Elizabeth Jaqueline Miller (husband Elliot), and Kathryn Calais Dwulet. She is also survived by her parents, three sisters, Jean de Smet (Robert Hackemack), Carolyn de Smet and Allise de Smet (John Siemienowicz), niece, Kelli (nee’ Mulvihill) Douglas (husband Blake), her ex-husband, Chet Dwulet, and good friend Michael Konjoian.
The family wants to thank those friends and neighbors who were a significant part of Mary’s life.
Mary requested no formal memorial service be held. Donations in her honor may be made to Andover Garden Club or Casting for Recovery Massachusetts/Rhode Island.
